Join Rabbi Rothstein and other young families at the KC Public Library’s Waldo Branch and read prose to pooches while also learning about the Jewish principle of Tza'ar Ba'alay Chayim, or caring for animals. The Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) literacy program uses therapy animals to improve children's reading and communication skills. Each child will read for 10 minutes and in between their timeslot, can explore the stacks and hear a Shabbat story from Rabbi Rothstein. Parents must sign a release form before children will be allowed to read with a dog so please RSVP by June 2 so Rabbi Rothstein can reserve time slots for your children.
